Surviving a complicated history with trauma

FILL YOUR CRACKS WITH GOLD

Turn your messy past in to a perfect present

ABSTRACT: Kintsugi is Japan’s ancient art of embracing imperfection by filling the cracks of broken artifacts with gold laced resin.

Each human life is valuable, but childhood trauma leaves us feeling broken and devalued. We do not have to live robbed of our power or serenity just because we endured situations beyond our control. I speak publicly about trauma I survived as a child to share how I rebuilt my life by facing my past and gaining an appreciation for my value as a human.

After hearing me speak, my audience will gain a better perspective on trauma they survived. They will feel empowered to face haunting memories, lean into present day struggles and embrace an unknown tomorrow aware that whatever comes will ultimately increase the value of their lives.

Takeaways:

  • Grow where you are planted
  • Find the good in the bad
  • Use fear as a catalyst for courage
  • Failing forward
